Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple

Three years ago, when I first came to Mumbai for three days (called Bombay that time), we traveled across the city like anything. Be it local trains, or the BMC buses or the black & yellow taxis, we used everything just to have the glimpse of all the things listed in the tourism booklet. Sometimes it used to be little more than just a glimpse (e.g. we spent more time in Mahalaxmi Temple). That time we were in the university and came here for the training.

We reached Prabhadevi at 10 AM on a bright tuesday only to see a seemingly endless queue of devotees in front of Siddhi Vinayak Temple. Logically we dropped the idea to visit the temple that day. Something very similar to this happened early in 2006, when I couldn't visit this temple due to the time constrains.
But this time, we decided not to couple this long awaited visit to the prestigious temple with any of our new year plans. We went there in the evening around 7 PM and still found a very very long queue. As we were not sure about the alternate arrangement for a smaller queue (You have to pay something for that), we found
ourselves at the wrong entrance and wasted around one and half hours in that queue.

Finally we happened to get inside the temple and offer our pooja (prayers). This time there was no shortage of time and we sat in the temple for sometime. It felt really good to visit this temple after so long. Hope this to be proved a good start of new year.
