Kaun Banega Champu


I was very impressed by the KBC advertisement where a little kid from delhi, questioning practically everything goes on becoming the King of the Bollywood(Or should I say Mumbai). The 130-second long clip shows a highly inquisitive kid based in Delhi, played by four-year old Shrey Bawa. The most amazing thing is the simplicity and innocence of the advertisement, which manages to keep viewers watching the whole of it (which is a real good length of time) wondering who this boy is going to be. It turns out to be the preliminary advertisement for KBC (Not Champu, its Crorepati here) with the new host Mr. Khan.

But yesterday, I saw something similar on FILMY channel. These guys have taken the same concept, but in little weird sense to promote their new programme, called KAUN BANEGA CHAMPU. And the funniest part in my view is when the security guard answers the first question of the little

Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple


Three years ago, when I first came to Mumbai for three days (called Bombay that time), we traveled across the city like anything. Be it local trains, or the BMC buses or the black & yellow taxis, we used everything just to have the glimpse of all the things listed in the tourism booklet. Sometimes it used to be little more than just a glimpse (e.g. we spent more time in Mahalaxmi Temple). That time we were in the university and came here for the training.

We reached Prabhadevi at 10 AM on a bright tuesday only to see a seemingly endless queue of devotees in front of Siddhi Vinayak Temple. Logically we dropped the idea to visit the temple that day. Something very similar to this happened early in 2006, when I couldn't visit this temple due to the time constrains.
But this time, we decided not to couple this long awaited visit to the prestigious temple with any of our new year plans. We went there in the evening around 7 PM and still found a very very long queue. As we were not sure about the alternate arrangement for a smaller queue (You have to pay something for that), we found
